Hamm VTD 8.5. Model All-wheel-tandem roller VTD 8,5 The VTD 8.5 has been the predecessor of today´s all-wheel drive tandem roller. At the time it was produced, this roller was state- of-the-art technology. Both drums were driven - therefore, no rolling friction occurred. It could be steered in the front and in the rear, the working width was able to be extended up to 50 % thanks to track offset. The weight distribution was 1:1. Between 1958 and 1980, almost 1300 rollers of this type have been manufactured in different weight classes.
